Procrastinating

I was going to call this post “not gone away” but it changed when I realised I should call it what I’m doing. Hence the start doesn’t fit the title any more and I’m writing this paragraph to explain it.

Well I did actually (go away), for Christmas, to three different places. But I will get back on this every day from now.

I’m procrastinating about work, I’m not sure why. I’m eating a pizza and browsing the net and being a bit lazy. I know from experience (right back to when I took my Geography GCSE) that when I start actually working I’ll be ok and work for hours, but at the moment I’m just listening to music – because I find starting the hardest thing to do regarding work (the idea of it is always far worse than the actually doing it!)

Maybe I should list what I need to do….?

* Ensure my planner has all mock exam results in it and my medium-term plans for my Year 11 group come from the lessons made from those mocks

* ensure the student council conference is planned (or at least I know what I have to do for it)

* plan the year councils

* plan effectively for the underachievers in my year 9 group (there are probably 8-10 that I’m really concerned about) and the intervention strategies I need to persue now.

* update my student forum as the Year 11s are starting to use it a lot more but lots of the videos have been removed from Youtube and that (I would place a link but only students from my school plus people who identify themselves are allowed access so that I don’t risk the obvious pitfalls of having millions of people access it).

* plan the questioning development across the school in detail

* ensure I’m fully prepared for the development of more diagnostic written feedback.

* write up the last Learning Leaders meeting development work I did with our school’s middle leaders.

That’ll do for now.

Oh, also, I’ve reread Tony Buzan’s short book on Mind maps that I said I was going to read and have gone back to his excellent and inspiring (and easy to read) book called “Embracing Change” – really good to dip into.

And I’ve played golf and finished 11th (out of 12) on Friday.

Now, I do actually feel like I’ve started, so I’m going to get on with it!
